One real key to a more consistent golf swing starts with an "Athletic Setup." This athletic position is similar to a quarter back in football. He is in a "Ready Position." From this position, he is balanced... there is tension in his thighs so he can move in any direction. Having your lower body ready will support the important move which is to turn your shoulders against this restricted lower body. This creates a lot of tork and allows you to wind up your back muscles for a very powerful swing. This athletic setup will be very helpful when you have to setup on awkward lies. It will make you setup balanced so you can swing in balanced during the swing. Ross duPlessis - PGA Professional
